Volunteering

Our conference relies on energetic volunteers who generously donate their time to make our event a success. Please consider joining our team.

Potential tasks:

  1. On-Site Registration
  2. Speaker assistance
  3. Tradeshow assistance
  4. Ushering
  5. Distributing and collecting evaluation forms
  6. Recycling
  7. Promoter for event greening program (e.g. encouraging registrants to use a reusable mug)
  8. Misc. errands

We encourage volunteers to share with us their preferences for volunteer assignment, however we reserve the right to assign volunteers to the tasks that we need the most help with at the time.

Compensation:

We encourage all attendees to volunteer for whatever amount of time they are available. Volunteers who commit to volunteering for two 5-hour shifts will be eligible for a full conference registration pass of only $15. You can also volunteer for just one 5-hour shift and in exchange register for a one-day conference registration at $10 for the same day.

Volunteers are responsible for their own housing, transportation, and parking unless they are also accepted to the scholarship or financial assistance program.

Volunteer registration does not include the cost of field trips and/or pre and post conference workshops that show an additional fee unless you are assigned to be a volunteer at that particular event. Scholarships are also available for some of these events.

How to become a volunteer:

You can sign up to be a volunteer when you register for the conference. There is no application process. You will be contacted by the conference organizing team shortly there-after to sign up for a volunteer shift.
